Lichfield

This Festival has a lot to answer for but sadly the Song element seems to have dissappeared. We originally found it by almost by accident. Sandra had put an advert sheet in exactly the place I walked that day advertising the Saturday Concert. We went along, enjoyed ourselves and have not had time to look back. We have however revisited Lichfield Folk Festival and we have continued to enjoy ourselves. Entertainers have included Ian Bruce, Claret, Jon Brindley and Ian Harvey-Pittaway.Sadly we mised it last year but hopefully this years planning will work better.

Romsey Beggar’s Fair

A reasonably close event. For some time I had pictured it as a quiet meander throught woodland glades stumbling on various singing and playing groups or artists as you went along. It was a bit of a shock to find that it took place in the town of Romsey. It turned out to be a good show all round.

Fylde

Yet another nearly local event. It continues to get better year on year. The biggest problem seems to be that matches up with the weekend of switching on the Blackpool illuminations and so it can get a bit busy for accommodation if you are not a camping person. Watch out for extra events in the week preceding the festival.
