Clubs A to F

The Broadside

The Old House at Home, Locksway Road, Milton, Portsmouth.

One of the first clubs we visited on the South Coast, but one of the many Wednesday activities
which are in the area. Mainly singaround format meetings.  Meet every Wednesday at 8.30.
Everybody is made to feel welcome. Nice webpage with more information about sessions as well/

Chichester

The Four Chestnuts, 234 Oving Road, The Hornet, Chichester, West Sussex

Another club which meets every Tuesday night at 8.30.  A mix of singarounds and guests.
Haven't made it to the new venue yet but from what everybody says it is still well worth a visit.

City Folk Club

Regnum District Guide Hall, 29 Whyke Ln, Chichester, West Sussex PO19

A Friday night singaround club. Very Friendly atmosphere.
Note the new venue. The wise ones assure me that although there is no available parking adjacent
to the hall it is easy to park in the Cattle Market Car Park and walk to the hall. There was some
message about parking on the East side of the car park, thank heavens they are moving in the summer
and I can stand with the sun at my back to find which way is East. ( You folk had better have booked
sunshine for the next few Friday evenings, otherwise I will have to rely on ancient strange rituals such as
"Go through the main entrance and turn left at the funny little roundabout thing or the next row if you miss it,
and park near the wall, cos then you will be near the opening to Whyke Lane".)
Next task is to bring your own drinks as there's no bar, I suppose I could have told you that before
you parked.
If you get there before I do you should still find that Once you have found the Club everybody treats you
as a long lost friend.

Dreamers (was Wheal Dream)

The Sportsman’s Arms, Four lanes,
Redruth, Cornwall, TR16 6LR

A club rather on the limits of my South Coast travels. This was a pleasant visit back in the land of my childhood.
A Sunday evening club, I have now managed to visit it both on a guest night and a Singaround Evening. The
Club has however moved since my last visit.
If you are in Cornwall for a holiday it is well worth a visit. If you are a local, why haven't you been there yet.
Now can I get them back into my plan for this year's travels?

The Fo’c’sle

The Richmond Inn, 108 Portswood Road, Portswood, Southampton, SO17 2FW

A really enjoyable club which also meets every Friday. It is often difficult to choose.
Please note the contact details on the web page. It is always a pleasure to get along to this Club,
everybody makes you feel welcome, the guests are always of a high calibre.
Plenty of parking round the corner in Westridge Road.
Watch out for extra events at the Turner Simms Hall.
