A local voice, whose participation in the Southampton Folk Scene has extended longer than many people will admit. Entertains both on his own and with Jeff Henry they both often appear at the Solent Folk Festival and at various local clubs. They are currently touring with their showcase of 'Southampton in Song'. You can often catch him at The Fo’c’sle.

To be honest I was rather put off by references to the Governor of Folk. Luckily I went along to a Morris Offspring show and discovered that his performances are lively and exciting. I had not considered how Rock Morris could be such an exhilirating experience. The Morris shows I have now seen also showed something of his knowledge of Folk History. But now I have also seen his Cecil Sharp show I can only wait in wonder for his next revelation of his skills and ability.

A ‘charming’ singer and storyteller whom we have listened to a couple of times at Winchester Folk Festival. His web pages say it much more eloquently than I could. Watch out for him at The White Lion Folk Club at Wherwell.
These guys actually managed to get our son to ask to come to a folk event, because he enjoyed their performance that much. Any evening, or any other time of the day, their laid back, comfortable approach will give you a generous helping of entertainment which leaves you relaxed and totally unprepared for their exciting musicianship and musical artistry which always leaves you wanting more.
Once upon a time there was a submariner, who ran away to Canada and now shares his passion for the sea and singing with a variety of the folks out there. If you listen carefully from Land's End you may just be able to hear him. If however the conditions aren't good enough for that he occassionally returns to this country to haunt his friends and enliven new ones. He has an interesting mix of songs on his CDs and several of the songs he has written grace the recordings of many of those who sing of the sea. Some are also sung by sailors who honestly believe that their forebears sang them many years before.
No I don’t know why these two young ladies are called a quartet, I didn’t ask. They performed a concert in a local church and I am watching out for their next performance near here.
